Lr House, Beja

Architecture Project

Rehabilitation of a single-family house located in Beja.
The rehabilitation aimed to update and flexibilise the living space while preserving the identity of the original building.
On the ground floor, the spatial reorganisation created a freer, more open, and functional layout, seamlessly integrating the social area and promoting fluid circulation between different spaces.
The upper floor accommodates three bedrooms, including a suite, with bespoke carpentry solutions tailored to daily comfort and organisation. The exterior annex houses the office and technical areas, including the laundry, ensuring autonomy and functionality.
The project also includes the addition of a small swimming pool and a shaded area, responding to the hot Alentejo climate and providing spaces for cooling and relaxation during the summer.
The intervention results in an updated, comfortable home adapted to contemporary living standards, while maintaining the memory and character of the existing building.
