Country House Torquines de Cima, Odemira

Architecture Project

Construction of a Rural Tourism building, classified as a Country House. The pre-existing building was in an advanced state of decay, and the intervention involved its demolition and the construction of a new building to meet the intended programme. The Tourism Unit was designed to offer different accommodation options, with the core of the house comprising common areas and four accommodation units in the form of suites. At the ends of the house, two additional accommodation units were designed as one-bedroom typologies (T1), completely independent from the central core.
The building’s volumetry was designed to take advantage of the site’s topography, developing the house across two levels, with the difference in elevation carried through to the interior, creating two levels that articulate and separate the social and private areas.
